Status of New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania Tax Filing Deadlines

March 26, 2020

New Jersey
A bill that has been passed by the New Jersey Legislature would extend the state’s tax filing deadline to June 30. The bill awaits Governor Murphy’s signature. The NJCPA is advocating for him to conditionally veto the bill to change that deadline to July 15. Either way, we’ve been assured that there will be an extension, we just don’t know the date yet. We will provide updates as soon as we get them.

New York
It has been reported that New York has extended their filing deadline to July 15, however nothing official has been posted on the New York Department of Taxation and Finance’s website yet.

The Pennsylvania Department of Revenue has extended the filing deadline to July 15. Read more here.
